NOTHING LEAVES YOUR BROWSER

Browser extension privacy.

This policy covers the CoProd Chrome extensions YouTube Transcript Copy & Download and Thumbnail Preview & Test for YouTube.

Last updated: 31 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Ilyas Bakouch, based in Canada, publishes the CoProd extensions. Contactilyas@ytaistudio.app about this policy. Ourwebsite privacy notice andapp privacy policy cover the website and the Mac apps.

What we collect: nothing

The extensions have no accounts, analytics, telemetry, advertising or servers of their own. We do not receive, store, sell or share any information about you, the videos you watch or how you use the extensions.

YouTube Transcript Copy & Download

On a YouTube watch page, the extension reads the caption data YouTube already provides for that video. It requests the caption track or transcript from YouTube's own endpoints, from inside the YouTube page you have open, in the same way the page does. Every copy and export is created locally in your browser. Transcript text is never sent to CoProd or any other third party.

Your export preferences, such as whether to include timestamps or group lines into paragraphs, are kept in Chrome's extension sync storage. If Chrome sync is on, Google syncs them between your signed-in browsers; we never receive them.

Thumbnail Preview & Test for YouTube

The extension shows thumbnails from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com) inside feed mockups on the YouTube page you have open, including the thumbnail of another video if you paste its link. Draft images you add to compare are read locally and held only in the page's memory; they are never uploaded and are discarded when you close or reload the page. The extension stores no settings.

Downloads

Files are saved only when you click a download button. Your browser saves them into a "CoProd Transcripts" or "CoProd Thumbnails" folder inside your Downloads folder. Thumbnail downloads are fetched directly from YouTube's image server. We never see these files.

YouTube and links to CoProd

The extensions work on YouTube pages, where Google'sprivacy policy applies to YouTube itself. Links in the extensions open the CoProd website, where ourwebsite privacy notice applies; the extensions do not add tracking information to those links.

Removing the extensions

Removing an extension from Chrome ends its access and deletes its stored preferences. Files you downloaded stay in your Downloads folder until you delete them. If an extension ever starts handling your data differently, we will update this policy before releasing that version.
